Our company was established in 1995, as a producer of machines mostly for the woodworking industry. In the last decades BLACK CIRCLE (formerly known as SAHOS and TOOL TRADE) has developed into one of the major European producers of CNC machining centres with a wide array of applications. ROBOTIC TOOL CHANGER Additional tool changer that can be adapted for use with 1 or 2 machines and can hold up to 150 different tools. To minimize handling time, the tool changer is equipped with double gripper. The input of tools by an operator is possible without shutdown of the system. The tool changer comes with custom HMI with user interface and can be equipped with a RFID reader.

OSCILLATING KNIFE The use of an automatic oscillating knife with the possibility of cutting in space is often required in the aerospace industry, where the emphasis is on the accuracy, quality and speed of machining of honeycomb materials and the use of special machining technologies. These are the cases where a simple oscillating knife holder cannot be used to machine the cutter. With the Sinumerik 840DL control system, 5-axis cutting was implemented using oscillating knives mounted in automatically interchangeable heads (manufactured by SONIMAT). The complexity of this solution consists in the combination of three automatically exchangeable oscillating heads with different types and lengths of knives with the possibility of knives cutting in 5 axes. Specifically, knives with a length of 50 or 80 mm and a cutting disc with a diameter of 63 mm. Since this is not a conventional rotary tool, the cutting edge angle of the oscillating knife must be controlled during machining so that the cutting edge is always perpendicular to the cutting plane. For this reason, a special cycle has been developed together with Siemens. This ensures that the knife is always correctly oriented even when machining in space. Even in the case of oscillating knives, the tool gradually wears out and the blades need to be replaced. After this change, it is necessary to measure the cutting edge angle on the BLUM laser tool probe using a specially developed cycle. A special postprocessor for the CAD/CAM/CME program Siemens NX was developed for this whole solution and is now available for BRAY CNC Machining Centres®. 48

INCREASED RIGIDITY The column and crossbeam connection has been extended by 330 mm in the BRAY L+ variant over the speciďŹ cation of the BRAY L machining centre. Due to this reinforcement, the rigidity of the machine portal is increased. The column holder has a newly reinforced ribbing and it is shortened by about 100 mm to reduce bending stress on the parts. Increasing the number of linear guide carriages from 3 to 5 improves the geometric characteristic of the machine. The new design of the carriage (ie. the cross) mainly contributes to the overall increase in stiffness in the Z axis. According to the conclusion of the Czech Technical University in Prague testing laboratory the frequency of the machine has been increased by 43% and the amplitude of dynamic compliance has been decreased by 40% compared to the standard BRAY L machining centre. Both of these statistics are a positive improvement and contribute to a 30% increase in the productivity of the machining centre.

COMPACT DESIGN Thanks to its compactness the BRAY M does not need any additional installation area in your plant. All components are sophistically integrated in the structure internals. Fully guarded machine guarantees good safety and protection of operators. The control panel of the machine with the control system is elegantly integrated in the machine enclosure, with optimal view of the working space both during machining and in maintenance and setting operations. The comfort of control is standardly (in case of the Heidenhain control system) completed by the delivered manual wireless hand wheel, which does not restrict the operator movements thanks to absence of supply cable, and a tilting control panel adjustable according to the operator's requirement. The rating and calculation models of the frame were one of the main priorities for optimal design of very rigid welded structure, which is the base of a new generation dynamic CNC machining centre. The frame was optimized for the same rigidity in all directions by means of FEM analysis.

MODERN AND INNOVATIVE The machine frame of the BRAY T machine has been designed in tight cooperation with the Czech Technical University (ÄŒVUT). The stiffness of the frame allows outstanding machine movement, not only during the fast travel in axes X, Y and Z(80 m/min), but also during acceleration (5m/s). High values of rapid feedrates increase effectiveness of the machining process. Automatic tool changes and high machine acceleration provides an important impact on the milling itself with reduced time. Both of these parameters signiďŹ cantly increase productivity and decrease costs. High level of reliability and a high quality components substantially reduce machine maintenance costs. High process reliability is ensured by the linear guideways at X, Y, Z axis with effective wipers, which are furthermore protected against dust and by covered bellows. All of the working area is highlighted with modern LED lamps with IP65 certiďŹ cation. A wide range of modern, innovative and, at the same time, simple technical solutions allows to reduce non-planned maintenance activities to the minimum.

RIGID STRUCTURE To cover the needs of industries that use a high amount of aluminium alloys and composites in their operations, we have developed a power gantry-type machining centre. Rigid frame of the machine‘s top gantry design provides for high dynamics and precision of machining to meet the needs of the aerospace, automotive and other transportation industries. The machine frame is welded to steel beams. The operator enters the completely enclosed working space through doors equipped with a safety lock. Depending on the needs of our customer‘s production type, the machining centre can be equipped with hybrid technology - ultrasonic cutting tool, suitable for use with standard or aluminium honeycomb. With acceleration reaching up to 5m/s2, with rigidity, precision and reliability, the BRAY X machining centre is an optimal solution for many different types of operations.

STAGE 1-2 Standardized commercial process beginning with customer request/inquiry, Thorough analysis of the needs and requirements of our customers is made to ensure maximal effectivity and optimization of performance for the specific operation. Customized specification of the selected BRAY CNC Machining Centre® follows. STAGE 3 Quotation for the selected BRAY CNC Machining Centre® is issued. STAGE 4-5 At this stage, reference machining demonstration is possible. After an order is confirmed a purchase agreement is concluded. STAGE 7-8 At this stage, all necessary parts of the BRAY Machining Centre® are manufactured and assembled, starting with the frame of the machining centre. Alongside mechanical installation of all the necessary components and all electrical installation is fitted to the machine. After the machine is assembled, activation and set up of all functions and control systems follows. We run a series of tests at this stage to ensure quality, reliability and precision, including a demonstration machining of a test product. STAGE 9-10 Pre-acceptance check and final test machining of a selected part(s) is performed. The machining centre is disassembled, prepared for dispatch and shipped to the location of operation of our customer. STAGE 11 Our team works on location to assemble the machine, followed by the commissioning of the machining centre. This process is finished by the handing over and delivery of the finished, fully operational BRAY CNC Machining Centre®.
